In this image we see Poludnica, a midday spirit of Slavic mythology who often appears as a tall woman dressed in white carrying a sickle.
This spirit wanders the fields and woods in the middle of the day searching for victims. When she comes across a person she asks them a difficult question, if they cannot answer she curses them with insanity or chops off their head. She is especially fond of tormenting mothers with children.
Any child who wanders too close to the fields alone might be snatched by the Poludnica, some say to be roasted and eaten.
