Survivor
Poem
by A M Kraft

You lay in your grave cold and dead
though not from the bullet I wished for your head.

No jail time for you
nor a punishing fate.

Just judgement day at the pearly gate.

Did St Peter deter you and send you away?

Tell you that sinners like you have to pay?

Children should play, be happy and light
not have to survive the terrors of night.

I'm a survivor, yet I sleep in the light
I know you are dead, yet you still come in the night.

Damn St. Peter for not getting it right
yet, I'm a survivor, I'll continue to fight.
