Dear Kitty
poem
by Marina Parnell

I miss you kitty.

You were good, better than me.
You only loved, never hated.
You only purred, never judged.
You only forgave, never punished.

You were so good kitty, so good.
I don't even know if you were really a cat.
Your heart was so pure and full of light,
maybe you were an angel in disguise.

You gave me happiness and joy,
and asked for nothing in return.
I will never forget your sweetness, your loyalty,
your willingness to be my best friend no matter what.

I know you didn't want to leave me,
I am so sorry that you died.
I wish I could bring you back,
go back in time and bring you back.

But I cannot.

So I will do the only thing I know,
in honor of your memory I promise;
to do my very best to live as you lived,
to be as good and sweet as you.
