Mediums: He is primarily known for his watercolor book illustrations, but also produced magazine and newspaper illustrations, woodcut engravings, and once designed costumes, scenery, and drop curtains for a production of Hansel and Gretel.

Died: September 6, 1939, Limpsfield, Surrey, cancer, age 71

Fun Facts: He worked as a clerk in the Westminster Fire Office for seven years before he began his art career. He lived in Australia for a short time. As a child he snuck pencils to bed with him and drew on his pillows.
