General advice for artists who want to add affiliate content to their websites.
Sites that use free content provided by the affiliate program, pre-made sites, and sites that do nothing more than republish content from some other source generally don't rank well in search engines.

It's a good idea to limit the amount of programs that you join. Choosing just one or two good programs will make managing your site easier and prevent it from appearing cluttered and inconsistent.
When placing affiliate links on your site always remember that less is more. You won't make more money by crowding your site obnoxious ads. Use tasteful links that complement your content, and limit the amount of affiliate links that you place on each page.
Join an affiliate program that relates to the theme of your site. For example if you write craft tutorials, join a program that sells the materials that you talk about in your tutorials.
If you are selling your artwork on your site, consider keeping your sales pages free from affiliate links, save the affiliate content for your additional pages such as your tutorials or your blog.
Experiment with your ads, try different colors, products and placements. Sometimes ads perform best when placed at the top of the page, other times they do better at the bottom.
